We are two full-time RVing women. Because of our age, some would describe us as past our prime, but we respectfully disagree. We are old enough that we no longer have to work forty hours a week (in fact Barbara has not worked for years) to make a living. Mary works part-time at REI. This allows her to buy the gear that we "need" for playing at a discount. There is an REI in just about all the major outdoor towns and this allows Mary to job hop from one cool location to another. Not working and working part-time allows us quite a bit of play time.
We enjoy traveling, kayaking, mountain biking, road biking, hiking, skiing/snowboarding, learning new things, going new places, and playing with our gadgets (cell phones, ipods, cameras, etc.). Mary is a musician and loves playing guitar and singing. Barbara is a geek and an info-nympho We try our best to have more fun than anyone.
Joining us in our adventures are our two Australian Cattle Dogs, Shadow and Moxie. Shadow is the best Cattle Dog ever although she is getting older and her health issues cause her to be grumpy sometimes. Moxie is a five year old baby - she is smart enough, but is lacking in common sense.
We drive a Ford F-350 dully crew cab long bed 4x4 (I think that is everything) - it is one big truck. We tow a thirty foot fifth-wheel behind it. The fifth-wheel has two slideouts and enough space for the things we need. Where ever it happens to be is where we call home.
Our home base is in Asheville, North Carolina where we own a home.
